Cyclone Biparjoy Updates !!

The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, is responsible for naming tropical cyclones. Member nations provide a list of names, ensuring that there is no confusion among different cyclones. These names hold cultural significance and are often reflective of the country’s language and traditions.

In the case of cyclone ‘Biparjoy,’ it was Bangladesh that bestowed this powerful name. Derived from the Bengali language, ‘Biparjoy’ translates to “Disaster.” The name not only captures the intensity and impact of cyclones but also serves as a symbolic reminder of the devastation they can bring.
